Several TV shows wrapped up filming for the season last week. Heroes and 30 Rock both finished up for the season while Prison Break filmed their very last episode. But as these shows wrap up, a whole new crop of pilots are just beginning to film in L.A., NYC, and various points around the country. Today, a new FOX pilot, Two Dollar Beer, is filming in Pasadena, CA. On the east coast, the pilot Bad Apples is filming in NYC while Three Rivers begins in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
Two Dollar Beer is a comedy that revolves around a group of young adults in Detroit as they deal with the poor economy but refuse to move away from their hometown. The show stars Beth Broderick (Sabrina, The Teenage Witch) and Jonathan Sadowski (Miss Guided). Three Rivers is a CBS set-in-Pittsburgh medical drama that will premiere next fall. Unlike most TV shows that are shot on a sound stage, Three Rivers will be shot on location in Pennsylvania, providing a much needed economic boost to the community and a more realistic look for the show.
Another new pilot that will be filmed on location is Trauma. The new NBC show about a “heroic group of first-response paramedics and how they save lives under extraordinary circumstances” recently began shooting in San Francisco. The show, starring Derek Luke of Notorious, Cliff Curtis of 10,000 B.C. , Anastasia Griffith of Damages, Aimee Garcia of George Lopez, Kevin Rankin of Friday Night Lights and Jamey Sheridan from Law & Order: Criminal Intent, will be based in Treasure Island and will take about a month to film.
